About SES

The Spiritist Educational Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to publishing the fundamental works of Spiritist thought, those written by Allan Kardec, and to support the growth of a new consciousness on Earth.

Our Commitment

SES is committed to publishing works of the finest visual quality, superb composition, and available in a variety of media. As digital technologies redefine book publishing, SES utilizes state of the art tools to create unique reading experiences. Its books are designed to create true engagement with the reader, and inspire an intimate relationship with Kardec’s special kind of spirituality. Kardec’s works help readers to open the gateways to incredible self-discovery, so they may reflect on their inner spiritual lives at every age and stage. They become companions for life. SES’s translation approach respects the essential principles of literary translation, and layers it with the expertise of French linguist consultants and careful editing by a team of American editors.

Know More About Allan Kardec

In his time, Allan Kardec was not regarded as a man of genius or a great thinker, but he was a true man of knowledge, one who loved science and excelled as a writer. He marked the history of ideas in an unequaled manner. He revealed, in unquestionable ways, the reality of the human spirit. He demonstrated that there is something in us beyond the material casing the earth destroys.

As his ideas shocked the halls of philosophy, his views of Jesus challenged the clerical dogmas, in equal manner. For Kardec, Jesus was a perfect man with a complete consciousness of God. He was fascinated by the moral teachings of Jesus and had a great love for His personality. For this reason, he coined the motto “without charity (love), there is no salvation” as the highest inspiration for the Spiritist movement. Indeed, that motto affirms that we are all equal before God, regardless of religion, status, race, color, or gender expression. Only love, expressed in thoughts and actions, matters.

SES’s volunteers and financial supporters are motivated by Allan Kardec’s vision of a transformed world, not tomorrow, or next year, but in the long view of the divine mind.
